Dillsboro
is a town of about 975 acres, approximately 1.48 square miles.
Dillsboro is about an hour's drive from Cincinnati, Ohio, offering
rural living with access to the services of larger metropolitan
areas. Its resources are community spirit and attitude, which help
attract and retain business.

Over the
past 10 years, Dillsboro has grown beyond its previous limits to
take in about 180 more acres of land.
The town was founded in
1830 by Mathia Whetsone. The town was named for General James Dill,
clerk of the circuit court at the time. Dill was also a soldier in
the War of 1812, the first
Dearborn County recorder, and a member of the 1816 Indiana
Constitutional Convention.
Dillsboro's
municipal offices and utilities department are located at 13030
Executive Drive. The town purchased this building in 1999 so that
the fire department would have entire use of the former combination
town hall/fire station.
The town built its first library, a branch of the Aurora Public
Library, in 1997, and continues to support the
civic club,
volunteer ambulance service, and volunteer fire department. The
fire department acquired a new fire truck in 2000 and purchased a
new pumper truck in 2003. The Town completed the construction
of a Waste Water Treatment Plant in 2006, along with other sewer
system upgrades.
The Town is currently working to upgrade many of
the sidewalks, curbs and storm drains in town.
